Rules and Regulations
You must be at least 18 years of age to participate and provide proof of age prior to receiving raffle prize. Board Members and employees of the Capitol Civic Center and employees of Victory DCJ are not eligible to participate. Family members of those excluded are eligible to purchase a raffle ticket.
Void where prohibited by law.
Winner need not be present at the time of the drawing.
It is the sole responsibility of the raffle ticket purchaser to read, understand and accept the terms set forth in these Official Rules and Regulations. All sales are final; no refunds will be provided.
The winning ticket holder will win their choice of the Raffle Vehicle or $15,000.00 cash award. The raffle vehicle is one 2024 Jeep Compass ($35,035 ARV The raffle winner is responsible for all federal, state and local taxes, license, title, and registration fees. Prize is not transferable or redeemable for cash. The Capitol Civic Center specifically disclaims all expressed or implied warranties, including without limitation warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose regarding the Raffle Vehicle.
The Capitol Civic Center reserves the right to determine the validity of entries.
Proof of auto insurance and Social Security number prior to taking delivery of the Raffle Vehicle will be required of the winning raffle ticket holder. Proof of Social Security number is required per IRS rules and regulations.
A maximum of 1,500 tickets will be available at $50.00 each. The purchase price of the tickets is not a tax-deductible contribution. An individual may purchase more than one ticket.
Due to the recent tornado in Rome, New York on July 16, 2024 and the damage to the complex the Capitol Civic Center Development Committee felt it appropriate to extend the date of the raffle. The drawing will be held on December 17, 2024 (Insert New Date or until all tickets are sold) at the Capitol Civic Center stage.
The winner will be determined via a random drawing. The winner will be notified by phone, email and/or mail if not present and required to complete an affidavit of eligibility and Liability/Publicity release (“Affidavit”) that must be returned within fourteen days of the date and time of notification or prize will be forfeited and an alternate winner will be selected. Promptly, within two weeks of the drawing date, the holder of the winning raffle ticket shall be required to meet with Victory Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram representatives for the purpose of paying such taxes and fees and prior to receiving the vehicle.
If the Raffle Vehicle winner is unable to afford all applicable taxes and fees, the winner will be awarded the alternative cash prize. Applicable federal, state, and local taxes shall be withheld in accordance with the law.
The winning ticket holder grants the Capitol Civic Center and Victory DCJ the use of his/her name and photograph in all communication and publicity materials without additional compensation.
All proceeds, less the prize and expenses, benefit the Capitol Civic Center a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization located in the City of Rome, County of Oneida, and State of New York. The Capitol Civic Center, Inc. is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. It’s mission is to provide cultural and educational opportunities to the community through the performing and visual arts in Rome, NY’s historic 1928 theater and auxiliary event spaces.
Purchaser of raffle ticket must write legibly. If more than one name is listed on the ticket, the first name listed shall be considered the entrant.
Retain your raffle ticket. In the event of any dispute or controversy concerning the winner of the drawing, you will be required to produce your raffle ticket stub.
Payment is accepted via check, money order, cash, or credit card. Checks or Money Orders shall be made payable to the Capitol Civic Center, Inc. 220 W. Dominick Street, Rome, NY 13440.
If an entrant’s check is dishonored by the bank, the entry ticket(s) will be invalid unless full payment plus $35 returned check fee are received by the Capitol Civic Center prior to the drawing. Dishonored checks are expected to be honored at the entrant’s earliest knowledge of the matter.
The rules and regulations are subject to change with the approval of the Capitol Civic Center Development Committee.
