Wake Up with the Stars: An Oscar Nomination Watch Party RESCHEDULED to Sunday, January 19
Start awards season right and join us for our traditional early morning event dedicated to the announcement of the Oscar nominations – which as of yesterday has been rescheduled from Friday, January 17 to Sunday, January 19.
With the Cinema Capitol temporarily closed due to last July’s tornado, our friends at Superoffical (a few doors over at 216 West Dominick Street) will be opening their doors starting at 7 AM to keep this event alive, as we gather to debate all of your nomination predictions, compare them with the official Capitol predictions, fill out your own ballot, and watch the nominations come in LIVE between 8 and 8:30 am. There will also be opportunities to learn about what is next for the Cinema and how to contribute to its recovery. Not a morning person? Don’t worry, Superofficial will supply the coffee.
Because seating is limited and we know that you attended this event last year, we wanted to give you an exclusive head start and give you the option of reserving your seat.

Cartoon Madness February 17-22
The Rome Capitol Theatre will host the 2025 edition of Cartoon Madness during school break week, February 17-22, during which color cartoons from the Warner Bros. Looney Tunes/Merrie Melody series will be presented. The show will run every day at 3 pm and on Saturday, February 22 at 3 and 7 pm.
